C - Vibration When Brakes Are Applied

VIBRATION WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED

C1- Road Test
- Road test vehicle 40-80 km/h (25-50 mph) without applying brakes.
- Is a vibration present ?
YES - Check tires, wheels and driveline for an imbalance and repair as necessary.
NO - Go to C2.

C2- Road Test (Cold Brake Application)
CAUTION: Do not exceed posted speed limits.

- Perform 3-6 light brake applications at 32-104 km/h (20-65 mph).
- Was a vibration present ?
YES - Check front disc brake rotors for excessive runout, wear or excessive brake shoe and lining material transfer. Disc Brake System
NO - Go to C3.

C3- Road Test (Hot Brake Application)
CAUTION: Do not exceed posted speed limits and watch for vehicles too close behind you to stop.

- Perform 3-6 heavy brake applications at 32-104 km/h (20-65 mph).
- Was a vibration present ?
YES - Check front disc brake rotors for excessive runout, wear or excessive brake shoe and lining material transfer.
NO - Vehicle OK.
