ABS Master Cylinder Without Traction Control:

WARNING: Brake fluid contains polyglycol ethers and polyglycols. avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. if brake fluid contacts eyes, flush eyes with running water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If taken internally, drink water and induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately.

OPERATION
The brake master cylinder is a dual-piston tandem type. When the brake pedal is applied, pressure is applied by mechanical linkage to the primary and secondary pistons. The brake master cylinder pistons apply hydraulic pressure to the two opposed hydraulic circuits.
^ The ABS-only brake master cylinder secondary circuit (front) supplies the front brakes.
^ The ABS-traction control brake master cylinder primary (rear) circuit supplies the front brakes. The secondary circuit supplies the rear brakes.

COMPONENTS
The brake master cylinder consists of:
^ brake master cylinder reservoir and fluid level indicator.
^ primary and secondary pistons.
^ brake master cylinder body.

BRAKE PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE
^ The ABS-only brake master cylinder uses a brake pressure control valve in the primary (rear) circuit to control hydraulic pressure to the rear brakes. The brake pressure control valve is serviced separately.
^ The ABS-Traction Control brake master cylinder does not use a brake pressure control valve.
