Disc Backing Plate

Front Disc Brake Components:






REMOVAL
1. Remove front rotor.
2. Punching out rivet mandrels located in center of rivets.
3. With a chisel, cut off rivet head at front wheel spindle.
4. Punch out rivet remaining in hole.
5. Remove shield.


INSTALLATION
1. Align disc brake rotor shield with wheel spindle mounting bosses.
2. Install three new rivets using Heavy Duty Riveter D80L-23200-A or equivalent through attaching holes in rotor shield and front wheel spindle.

NOTE: The rivet body head should clamp front disc brake rotor shield securely to spindle bosses.

3. If rivet is not tight, remove rivet and install another.
4. Install front rotor.
