Visual Inspection

1. When a low brake pedal or the feel of a bottomed-out condition exists, check for brake pedal reserve.
2. Check the fluid level. If the fluid level is below the MAX line in the brake master cylinder reservoir, add the required amount of the specified fluid.
3. Verify the parking brake control stroke is five to seven notches when applied with a foot pedal force of 445 N (100 lb). If not adjust parking brake. Adjustments
4. Check the parking brake rear cable and conduits for damage and proper routing. If the parking brake rear cable and conduit are damaged, they must be replaced.
5. When in the brake master cylinder area, check the brake tubes and brake master cylinder mounting. The brake tubes and attaching nuts must be tight. The brake tube fittings must not show any signs of leakage.
6. Inspect the brake tubes and hoses for cracks, swelling or other damage and replace if necessary.
7. Inspect the brake tubes under the vehicle for damage and proper routing.
8. Check the hoses connecting the brake tubes to the front or rear disc brake calipers for any signs of damage, cracking or softening. The hose fittings must be tight without signs of leakage.
