Fuel Line Coupler: Service and Repair



REMOVAL
1. Perform fuel pressure release procedure.





2. Remove retaining clip from spring lock coupling by hand only. Do not use any sharp tool or screwdriver because it may damage the spring lock coupling.
3. Twist fitting to free it from any adhesion at the O-ring seals.





4. Fit Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Tool T83P-19623-C to coupling.





5. Close tool and push into open side of cage to expand garter spring and release female fitting.





6. After garter spring is expanded, pull fittings apart.





7. Remove tool from disconnect coupling.

INSTALLATION
1. Lubricate the O-rings with clean SAE engine oil.





2. Insert male fitting into female fitting and push together until garter spring is engaged.

Garter Spring:





3. Pull on fittings to make sure coupling engages.





4. Install clip to spring lock coupling.





5. Make sure clip is correctly installed.
6. Firmly push retaining clip onto the cage of the spring lock coupling. Make sure that the horseshoe clip is over the coupling. Do not install retaining clip over rubber fuel line.

NOTE: Natural gas vehicles require the large black clip to be installed on the supply fuel line.

7. Perform Post-Service Procedures. Service and Repair
8. Test for leaks.
