Wiper Blade: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Turn ignition switch to RUN. Operate windshield wipers and cycle blade and arm assembly to up position. Turn ignition switch to OFF so that blade and arm assemblies stop in up position.







2. Insert flat blade screwdriver in slot of windshield wiper blade. Push down on spring lock (with screwdriver) and pull windshield wiper blade from pin on windshield wiper pivot arm.







3. Insert flat blade screwdriver between edge of wiper blade superstructure and the blade backing clip. Twist screwdriver slowly until blade element clears on side of superstructure claw. Slide element out of superstructure claw.

INSTALLATION







1. Slide new wiper blade element into claws. Starting with second set from either end of windshield wiper blade. Slide blade element into all the claws to the element stop.







2. Insert blade element into one side of end claws.







3. With a rocking motion, push blade element upward until it snaps into end claw.
4. To install windshield wiper blade, push onto pin of windshield wiper pivot arm until spring lock engages pin. Pull to test.
