Pressure
REMOVAL1. Disconnect steering column intermediate shaft coupling.
2. Remove steering gear mounting bolts and lower power rack and pinion steering gear to gain access to hoses.
3. Remove bracket retaining screw at power steering pump.
4. Remove power steering fitting at power steering pump.
5. Remove two retaining screws on rear sub-frame.
6. Remove retaining screw on lower radiator support.
7. Remove intermediate fitting at pressure line connection point near power rack and pinion steering gear.
8. Remove power steering left turn pressure hose.
9. Remove power steering pressure hose fitting at power rack and pinion steering gear.
10. Remove power steering pressure hose.
INSTALLATION
1. Position power steering pressure hose at power rack and pinion steering gear.
2. Install power steering pressure hose fitting at power rack and pinion steering gear. Tighten to 27-34 Nm (20-25 ft. lbs.).
3. Position power steering left turn pressure hose in design position.
4. Connect power steering left turn pressure hose and power steering pressure hose at intermediate connection point at power rack and pinion steering gear. Tighten to 14-20 Nm (11-14 ft. lbs.).
5. Secure power steering left turn pressure hose with retaining screw at lower radiator support. Tighten to 19-25 Nm (14-18 ft. lbs.).
6. Secure power steering left turn pressure hose with two retaining screws on rear sub-frame. Tighten to 9-12 Nm (80-106 inch lbs.).
7. Install power steering left turn pressure hose to fitting at power steering pump. Tighten to 27-34 Nm (20-25 ft. lbs.).
8. Secure power steering left turn pressure hose to power steering pump with bracket and retaining screw. Tighten to 9-12 Nm (80-106 inch lbs.).
9. Position power rack and pinion steering gear and install steering gear mounting bolts. Tighten to 135-195 Nm (100-143 ft. lbs.).
10. Connect steering column intermediate shaft coupling.
11. Fill the power steering pump reservoir with MERCON(r) Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid or equivalent.
