Washer Fluid Level Switch: Description and Operation

NOTE: Windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor cannot be serviced separately. If sensor needs service, the windshield washer reservoir must be replaced.

- The windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor is mounted in the windshield washer reservoir.
- It consists of a float and a magnet assembly that opens and closes a reed-type switch.
- When the windshield washer pump is energized, current will flow from the windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor through the contacts to the LOW WASHER warning indicator in the instrument panel.
