Cabin Temperature Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

The automatic temperature control sensor:
^ is located behind the center of the instrument panel.
^ contains a thermistor which measures the temperature of the air inside the passenger compartment.

An automatic temperature control sensor hose and elbow is connected between the A/C evaporator housing and the automatic temperature control sensor. Its function is to use air from the A/C evaporator core air stream to the automatic temperature control sensor to create a suction within the sensor. The suction will draw in-vehicle air into the sensor and across the thermistor.
