Wheel Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection

RESISTANCE
Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between both terminals of the ABS sensor. Resistance should be between 0.8-1.4 K ohms for both the front and rear sensors.

NOTE: If resistance is not within range, replace the sensor.

SHORT TO GROUND
Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between each terminal of the ABS sensor and either vehicle ground or the sensor body. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, replace the sensor.

AIR GAP
Compare the air gaps between the sensor and the ABS sensor indicator.

NOTE: Gap is not adjustable, if not within range, check for damaged components such as damaged/worn wheel bearings.

MOUNTING
Check sensor and sensor mounting bolts for looseness. Repair as required.
