Ignition Coil Pack

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from coil packs and radio ignition interference capacitors.

Removing Ignition Wires At Coil Pack:





2. Disconnect ignition wires by squeezing locking tabs and twisting while pulling upward.
3. Remove four retaining screws and remove coil packs and radio ignition interference capacitors. Save radio ignition interference capacitors for reinstallation with coil packs.






INSTALLATION
1. Position coils and radio ignition interference capacitors to mounting bracket.
2. Install retaining screws and tighten to 5-7 Nm (45-61 lb in).
3. Apply Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A (Motorcraft WA-10) or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M1C171-A to all ignition wire spark plug boots.
4. Install each ignition wire connector to the proper terminal on the coil pack. Make sure boots are fully seated.
5. Connect coil packs and radio ignition interference capacitors to the engine control sensor wiring.
