EGR Tube: Service and Repair






REMOVAL
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Disconnect EGR tube from EGR tube to manifold connector.

CAUTION: Use care not to damage EGR tube to manifold connector.

NOTE: Hold EGR tube to manifold connector with a wrench while disconnecting EGR tube.

3. Lower vehicle.
4. Disconnect pressure feedback exhaust sensor hoses from EGR tube.
5. Disconnect accelerator cable and speed control actuator cable from the throttle body.
6. Remove accelerator cable bracket retainers and position accelerator cable bracket with the accelerator cable and the speed control actuator cable out of the way.
7. Disconnect EGR tube from the EGR valve and remove the EGR tube from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Position EGR tube into EGR valve and loosely connect EGR tube nut to EGR valve.

NOTE: Do not tighten EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube nut on EGR valve at this time.

2. Raise vehicle.
3. Connect EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube to EGR valve tube to manifold connector. Tighten nut to 35-45 Nm (26-33 lb ft).

NOTE: Hold EGR valve tube to manifold connector with a wrench while tightening EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube nut.

4. Lower vehicle.
5. Tighten EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube nut to the EGR valve to 35-45 Nm (26-33 lb ft).
6. Position the accelerator cable bracket. Install and tighten retainers to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb in).
7. Connect the accelerator cable and speed control actuator cable to the throttle body.
8. Connect pressure feedback exhaust sensor hose to the EGR tube.
