Engine Oil Viscosity

NOTE: All engines are filled with SAE 5W-3O oil at the factory.

Engine oils with a SAE 6W-30 viscosity are PREFERRED for the vehicle. They provide the best engine performance, fuel economy and engine protection for all climates down to -25°C (13°F).
Ford recommends using Motorcraft or equivalent engine oil meeting Ford specification ESE-M1C153-E and licensed as CERTIFIED FOR GASOLINE ENGINES by the American Petroleum Institute (API Certification).
