Crankshaft: Description and Operation

BEARINGS
The crankshaft is supported on the bottom of the cylinder block by five steel-backed, over-plated aluminum crankshaft main bearings.

TIMING SPROCKETS
A camshaft sprocket, two crankshaft sprockets and two timing chains connect the crankshaft with the camshafts and provide a 2:1 drive ratio.
