Piston Pin Fitting
1. Inspect the connecting rods for signs of fractures and the bearing bores for out-of-round and taper.CAUTION: Do not ream or hone the pin bore in the connecting rod. Replace damaged connecting rod nuts and bolts or engine damage may occur.
2. If the bore exceeds the recommended limits and/or if the connecting rod is fractured, replace it.
3. Check the ID of the connecting rod piston pin bore.
4. If the pin bore in the connecting rod is larger than specification, install a 0.025 mm (0.001 inch) oversize piston pin (6135).
5. Prefit the oversize piston pin to the piston pin bore by reaming or honing the piston (6108) to provide 0.007-0.013 mm (0.0003-0.0005 inch) clearance (light slip fit).
6. Assemble the piston, piston pin and connecting rod. Follow proper procedures.
