Camshaft: Description and Operation

The camshafts are individually chain-driven. There is an automatic hydraulic timing chain tensioner (6L266) on each timing chain. A camshaft sprocket, crankshaft sprocket and timing chain connects the crankshaft with each camshaft and provides a 2:1 drive ratio.
