Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Service and Repair

NOTE: The brake pressure control valve assembly is serviced only as an assembly.

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect the brake inlet tubes and the rear tubes from the brake pressure control valve.
3. Remove the screw that retains the brake pressure control valve as an assembly on the frame. Remove the assembly from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the brake pressure control valve as an assembly on the inner floor side member. Install retaining screw for frame mounting.
2. Connect the rear brake outlet tubes to the brake pressure control valve. Tighten the tube nut to 14-24 Nm (11-17 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the inlet tubes to the brake pressure control valve assembly. Tighten the tube nut to 14-24 Nm (11-17 ft. lbs.).
4. Bleed brake system .
5. Retest brake system.
