Front

DESCRIPTION
Yellow paint is used to match front disc brake rotor with the hub to minimize brake rotor runout. Replacement disc brake rotors should be match-mounted to hub.

COMPONENTS
^ Two disc brake calipers.
^ Two disc brake rotors.
^ Two disc brake anchor plates that attach the disc brake caliper to the suspension spindle.
^ Disc brake rotor splash shields.

Calipers
The disc brake calipers are:
^ hydraulically activated pin slider-type disc brake caliper assembly
^ The disc brake caliper has a steel caliper piston with a piston seal and a press-in type dust boot.

Rotors
The disc brake rotors are:
^ 276 mm (10.87 inch) rotors are used with 15 inch wheels.
^ 294 mm (11.57 inch) rotors are used with 16 inch wheels.
^ Ventilated full cast design, using non-directional cooling fins.
^ Mounted to the wheel hub.
^ Serviced with the disc brake caliper and front disc brake caliper anchor plate removed.

Support Bracket
The front disc brake caliper anchor plate is attached to the front wheel spindle by two M 12 X 1.75 X 30 mm bolts. Using longer bolts will damage the front disc brake rotor.

Splash Shields
The front disc brake rotor shield is:
^ galvanized steel.
^ mounted to the front wheel spindle with three pop rivets on each side.
^ not interchangeable between sides.

Pads/Shoes
The brake shoes and linings are interchangeable, side to side and inboard to outboard. The flanges on both inner and outer brake shoe and lining assemblies slide on machined surfaces of the front disc brake caliper anchor plate.
