Sunroof / Moonroof Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove roof opening glass.







2. Remove roof headlining access hole cover.







3. Disconnect the roof sliding panel motor electrical connector.







4. Remove three screws, ground wire and sliding roof panel motor.

NOTE: Mark position of ground wire so it can be placed in the correct position at installation.

INSTALLATION







1. Connect the motor electrical connector.







2. Insert a 2.5 mm (0.1 inch) dowel pin on each side of lifter mechanism timing hole.
3. Install sliding roof panel motor, ground wire and three screws. Tighten ground wire screws to 4-6 Nm (36-53 Lb-In).

CAUTION: Sliding roof panel motor must be installed carefully straight up into position.Installing sliding roof panel motor at an angle may damage motor mechanism.

NOTE: Install ground wire at position marked during removal.

4. Remove the 2.5 mm (0.1 inch) dowels.
5. Install roof opening glass.
6. Install roof headlining access hole cover.
