Sunroof / Moonroof Motor: Adjustments
The sliding roof panel motor must be synchronized. Any time the sliding roof panel motor is removed from the vehicle, it must be checked for synchronization before it is installed.1. Operate roof sliding outer glass panel until rear of roof sliding outer glass panel is flush with sheet metal surface.
2. Remove roof headlining access hole cover.
3. Remove three sliding roof panel motor retaining bolts.
NOTE: The ground wire must be installed in the same position during installation.
4. Lower sliding roof panel motor away from roof sliding panel rail.
5. Using roof sliding panel switch, operate sliding roof panel motor until it is shut off by the microswitch. Check that the white and gray timing tabs are aligned in the window.
If the sliding roof panel motor is not synchronized, adjust it as follows:
a. If disconnected, connect battery ground cable.
b. Connect sliding roof panel motor wiring connector to roof panel wiring connector.
c. Operate roof sliding panel switch to advance sliding roof panel motor drive gear until white timing tab on gear cam and gray timing tab on motor are aligned.
d. Disconnect sliding roof panel motor wiring connector from roof panel wiring connector.
e. From the retracted position, crank roof sliding outer glass panel flush with roof panel.
NOTE: Timing tabs are located in the window on the sliding roof panel motor.
6. Install sliding roof panel motor onto roof sliding panel rail.
7. Install sliding roof panel motor retaining screws. Tighten screws to 4-6 Nm (36-53 Lb-In).
8. Install roof headlining access hole cover.
