Radio/Stereo: Service and Repair






WARNING: USE ONLY PROPERLY INSTALLED FCC APPROVED RADIO TRANSMITTING EQUIPMENT. USE OF OTHER TRANSMITTING EQUIPMENT MAY CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO MALFUNCTION OR STALL. IF THE ENGINE STALLS, POWER BRAKE AND POWER STEERING ASSIST WILL STOP. CONSULT YOUR AUTHORIZED DEALER BEFORE INSTALLING ANY RADIO TRANSMITTER.

Radio Removal Tool:





Description Tool Number
Radio Removing Tool T87P-19061-A.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Install Radio Removing Tool T87P-19061-A into radio face plate. Push tool in approximately 25 mm (1 inch) to release retaining clips.

CAUTION: Do not use excessive force when installing Radio Removing Tool T87P-19061-A tool, as this will damage retaining clips and may make radio chassis removal difficult or cause damage to the radio chassis.

3. Apply a slight spreading force on tool and pull radio chassis out of instrument panel.
4. Disconnect the wiring connectors and antenna cable and remove the radio chassis.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect wiring connectors and antenna cable to radio chassis.
2. Slide radio chassis into instrument panel, making sure that rear radio chassis support is engaged on lower support rail.
3. Push radio chassis inward until retaining clips are fully engaged.
4. Connect battery ground cable.
