Keyless Entry Transmitter: Description and Operation
NOTE: The electronic door lock control system will not function when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position.- The electronic door lock control system includes a four-button (hand-held) keyless entry remote transmitter. Keyless entry remote transmitters are reprogrammable and all keyless entry remote transmitters for the vehicle must be set at the same time. When troubleshooting the system, one keyless entry remote transmitter is essential to perform tests.
- To unlock the driver front door, press the UNLOCK button once on the keyless entry remote transmitter, which is programmed into the electronic door lock control processor.
- This will also disarm the anti-theft alarm control (if equipped).
- To unlock all front doors, press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry remote transmitter a second time within 5 seconds of the first unlock.
- To unlock the luggage compartment door, press the blue TRUNK button once on the keyless entry remote transmitter.
NOTE: If more than 5 seconds have elapsed since the first press of the UNLOCK button, pressing the UNLOCK button again will only unlock the driver front door.
- To turn on interior lamps, press any of the following keyless entry remote transmitter buttons: UNLOCK, TRUNK, or PANIC.
- To lock all front doors and arm the anti-theft alarm control (if equipped), press LOCK button on the keyless entry remote transmitter once.
- To confirm that front doors have locked, press LOCK button again within 5 seconds of the first press. This will sound the horn and lock all front doors again.
- To activate the personal security alarm, press the red PANIC button on the keyless entry remote transmitter. The horn will sound and parking lamps will flash for a maximum of 3 minutes.
- To deactivate the personal security alarm, press the red PANIC button again or turn the ignition switch to RUN.
