Removal and Installation

Steering Column:

1. Remove steering wheel, then the turn signal and windshield wiper switch.
2. Disconnect ignition switch electrical connector.
3. Remove ignition/shifter interlock cable mounting bracket bolt, then position aside.
4. Remove four steering column upper mounting bracket bolts, then lower steering column.
5. Remove floor opening cover nuts, then remove floor opening cover plate and steering column tube boot.
6. Remove intermediate shaft to pinion shaft bolt.
7. Remove steering column support bracket nuts, then the steering column.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure steering column upper mounting bracket bolts are tightened to 80-124 in lb.
