Test Notes

Normal Operation
Each front air bag sensor has three wires. Two of the wires are used for air bag deployment and monitoring the sensor's connection to the air bag diagnostic monitor (refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code 41 and Code 42 diagnosis). The other wire is used for monitoring the mounting (ground) of the front air bag sensor to sheet metal (refer to Code 44 and Code 45 diagnosis). If diagnosis reveals that BOTH front air bag sensors are not connected AND the front air bag sensors are not properly grounded, the diagnostic monitor will flash the air bag warning indicator continuously at a fast rate.

Possible Causes
1. All front air bag sensors disconnected from wiring harness or main wiring harness not connected with engine compartment wiring harness.
