Air Bag Deactivation/Reactivation Procedures
Deactivation Procedure1. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
2. Wait one minute. This is the time required for the backup power supply in air bag diagnostic monitor to deplete its stored energy.
3. Remove the driver side air bag module.
4. Connect Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00010 or equivalent to the wiring harness in place of the driver side air bag module.
5. Remove the passenger side air bag module.
6. Connect the Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00010 or equivalent to the wiring harness in place of the passenger side air bag module.
7. Connect the positive battery cable.
Reactivation Procedure
1. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
2. Wait one minute. This is the time required for the backup power supply in air bag diagnostic monitor to deplete its stored energy.
3. Remove the air bag simulator from the driver side air bag module electrical connector at the top of the steering column.
WARNING: THE AIR BAG SIMULATOR(S) MUST BE REMOVED AND THE AIR BAG(S) RECONNECTED WHEN THE SYSTEM IS REACTIVATED.
4. Reconnect the driver side air bag module electrical connector.
5. Position the driver side air bag module on the steering wheel and secure it with the two bolts (10 mm).
6. Remove the air bag simulator from the wiring harness above the glove compartment.
7. Reconnect the passenger side air bag module electrical connector.
8. Install the passenger side air bag module.
9. Connect the positive battery cable.
10. Prove out the system.
