Throttle Cable/Linkage: Description and Operation
Accelerator Cable:
The position of the throttle valve is regulated by the accelerator cable. A ferrule attached to the cable end engages the throttle control lever at the throttle body. From the throttle control lever, the accelerator cable enters a casing that routes through the engine compartment to the bulkhead. At the accelerator pedal and shaft, a plastic insert with lock tabs is used to secure the cable.
