Throttle Body: Description and Operation
Throttle Body:
The throttle body is mounted to the upper intake manifold. It receives the air from the air intake ducting system. The throttle body regulates the amount of air to be let into the intake manifold through the use of a throttle valve that is built integrally with the throttle cam.
Mounted on the throttle body is an Idle Air Control (IAC) valve, a Throttle Position (TP) sensor, a dashpot, and an idle speed adjusting screw.
