Fuel Injection System

Fuel System Components:

Simultaneous Multiport Fuel Injection (MFI) is utilized to maximize fuel efficiency and engine performance.

To supply the extra amount of fuel required to start the engine, all four fuel injectors pulse at the same time. When all four fuel injectors pulse together, fuel is supplied to each cylinder on the compression and also on the exhaust strokes.

With the engine running, the fuel requirements decrease. The MFI system then times the fuel injectors to pulse two pairs at a time. The first pair are fuel injectors one and three, the second pair are fuel injectors two and four. The two injector pairs pulse alternately, first pair one and three, then pair two and four. This alternately pulsed timing supplies one fuel injection pulse for every two crankshaft revolutions.

Above 7300 rpm, fuel injection is cut off to prevent over revving the engine.
