Removal and Installation

Accelerator Cable:

1. Remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and shaft. Disconnect the accelerator cable clip from the shaft.
2. If equipped, disconnect the speed control actuator cable from the accelerator pedal shaft lever.
3. Remove the accelerator shaft retainer bolts and remove the accelerator pedal and shaft, and accelerator shaft retainer assembly.

Accelerator Pedal:

4. Use a screwdriver to disconnect the accelerator shaft spring tension hook from the accelerator pedal and shaft.
5. Use a screwdriver to remove the E-clip from the pivot pin.

Accelerator Pedal:

6. Remove the accelerator lever pivot bushings.
7. Pull the accelerator pedal and shaft out of the accelerator shaft retainer.
8. Remove the accelerator shaft spring.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the accelerator shaft retainer bolts to 8-11 Nm (71-97 lb in).
