Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve: Testing and Inspection

Cleaning of the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve is not recommended. The PCV valve should be replaced at the specified mileage intervals. Shake the PCV valve and carefully inspect it for splits or cracks. If the valve does not rattle or is damaged, replace it.
