Canister Purge Control Valve: Description and Operation

The evaporative emission canister (EVAP) purge valve regulates the amount of evaporative vapors drawn from the evaporative emissions canister into the engine. The EVAP canister purge valve is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and opens a passage between the EVAP canister and the intake manifold.
