Catalytic Converter: Description and Operation

The catalytic converter contains a specially treated honeycomb structure saturated with catalytically active precious metals. The converter reduces the concentration of carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen in the exhaust emissions to an acceptable level.
