P2 Monitor Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) PID

^ Access OBD II PID's.

^ Warm engine to operating temperature.

^ Monitor engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor output.

^ Does the ECT voltage fall to less than 0.30v (greater than 240 degrees F)?

YES -- Service as necessary. Check for cause of overheating.

NO -- Go to P3. P3 - Check Ignition System
