Data Link Connector: Description and Operation
The Data Link Connectors (DLC) provide access to several systems in the vehicle for diagnosis and testing procedures.- The underhood Data Link Connector 1 is used for diagnosis of anti lock brake systems and for energizing the vehicle's fuel pump for testing purposes.
- The in-car OBD II Data Link Connector (OBD II DLC) is used with an OBD II compatible scan tool, such as the Rotunda New Generation STAR tester 007-00500, to diagnose the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) system. It is a standard, 16-pin OBD II data link connector.
