WARNING:The airbag backup power supply must be depleted before component service is performed. To deplete the backup power supply energy, disconnect the battery ground cable and wait one minute.
Always wear safety glasses when servicing an air bag vehicle, and when handling an airbag. Always wear gloves when handling a deployed air bag.
When carrying a live air bag, make sure the bag and trim cover are pointed away from your body. In the unlikely event of an accidental deployment, the bag will then deploy with minimal chance of injury.
When placing a live air bag on a bench or other surface, always face the bag and trim cover up. This will reduce the motion of the module if it is accidentally deployed.
