Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Loosen the engine air cleaner tube clamp at the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor and disconnect the engine intake air resonator.

Electrical Connector:

2. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector.

Air Cleaner:

3. Remove the engine air cleaner bolts and nut. Remove the engine air cleaner.
4. Remove the air cleaner element from the housing.
5. Remove the MAF sensor.
6. Remove the engine air cleaner gasket.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the engine air cleaner gasket.
2. Install the MAF sensor.
3. Install the air cleaner element into the engine air cleaner housing.
4. Place the engine air cleaner into its mounting position and connect the engine air cleaner intake tube.
5. Connect the air cleaner outlet tube to the engine intake air resonator.
6. Install the engine air cleaner lower bolts and nut. Tighten to 19-25 Nm (14-19 lb ft).
7. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
8. Connect the engine intake air resonator (chamber) to the MAF sensor and tighten the engine air cleaner tube clamp.
