Rear






REMOVAL
1. Remove approximately two thirds of brake fluid from master cylinder.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Loosen parking brake cable housing adjusting nut, then remove cable housing from bracket and parking lever.





4. Turn brake adjuster screw counterclockwise with suitable Allen wrench to pull caliper piston inward. Turn brake adjuster screw until it stops, this will fully retract caliper piston.

5. Remove lower caliper retaining bolt, then pivot caliper to clear brake pads. If necessary, pry caliper outward.
6. If necessary remove caliper, then support caliper with wire from strut assembly.





7. Remove anti-rattle springs from disc pads, then the disc pads, anti-rattle shims and retaining clips. If disc pads and anti-rattle shims are to be used again, they must be installed in their original positions.
8. If necessary, remove and resurface rotor at this time. Rotor must be machined while it is bolted to hub. Rotor and hub are mounted as an assembly on lathe to decrease possibility of rotor runout.

INSTALLATION
1. Install disc pad retaining clips, then position anti-rattle shims on disc pads.
2. Position disc pads into caliper anchor bracket.
3. Install anti-rattle springs into disc pads.
4. Lubricate guide pin bushings with suitable brake grease.
5. Install caliper on guide pin if caliper was removed, then pivot caliper over brake disc pads.
6. Install caliper retaining bolt.
7. Perform system brake bleeding procedures.
8. Position parking brake cable into parking brake lever and bracket.
9. Adjust parking brake cable so there is no clearance between cable end and parking brake lever.
10. Tighten parking brake cable locknut.
11. Install wheel and tire assembly.
