Removal and Installation
WARNING: On models with anti-lock brakes, the brake system accumulator must be depressurized before disconnecting any hydraulic lines or fittings. Depressurize the system by pumping the brake pedal a minimum of 25 times with the ignition in the OFF position
REMOVAL
1. Remove wheel and tire assembly, then the brake pads.
2. Remove brake flex hose clip from strut assembly bracket.
3. Remove brake flex hose to caliper banjo bolt.
4. Remove two copper washers sealing flex hose banjo fitting, then discard washers.
5. Remove lower caliper bolt.
6. Using cold chisel, remove upper caliper guide pin dust cap. This will give access to Allen head guide pin.
7. Using Allen wrench, loosen and remove upper caliper guide pin.
8. Lift caliper off rotor.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Before installation, remove upper and lower guide pin bushings and lubricate with a suitable disc brake grease.
1. Install brake pads and shims.
2. Position caliper over rotor, then install caliper retaining bolts.
3. Install two new copper washers and banjo bolt on flex hose banjo fitting.
4. Position flex hose on caliper and install banjo bolt.
5. Perform system brake bleeding procedures, then install wheel and tire assembly.
