Diagnosis Using NGS

NOTE: Use Rotunda Digital Volt-Ohmmeter and Rotunda 60-pin Break Out Box or equivalent for diagnosis or pinpoint tests.

USING NEW GENERATION STAR (NGS) TESTER
Diagnostics for this system require use of the Rotunda NGS star tester or equivalent. The module controlling the system being diagnosed communicates with the Data Link Connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel.

- Use the NGS tester or equivalent to the DLC to retrieve continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) and to execute self-test diagnostics for the integrated air bag module.

- If self test is passed and no DTCs are retrieved, go to Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics.

- If DTCs are retrieved, go to DTC reference chart to continue diagnostics.

- If the integrated air bag module cannot be accessed by the NGS, go to pinpoint test B.
