Test Notes
NORMAL OPERATION
The air bag diagnostic monitor checks the resistance of the passenger air bag pressure switch. Normal resistance from Pin C2-7 to Circuit 57 (BK) is between 235 and 265 ohms. If the resistance from Pin C2-7, Circuit 626 (P) to ground falls below the expected range, the air bag diagnostic monitor will store in memory (DTC B1939) and flash LFC 39 on the air bag indicator. If the low resistance is later serviced or otherwise falls into the normal range the DTC B1939 will be stored in background memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Low Resistance In The Pressure Switch Circuit Can Be Caused By:
1. A short to ground in the wiring harness in Circuit 626 (P).
2. A short to case ground or low resistance in the passenger side air bag pressure switch.
