Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1. Perform Fuel System Pre-Service Procedure, and Fuel Pressure Release procedure as outlined under Fuel Delivery And Air Induction/Service And Repair.
2. Remove upper intake manifold.
3. Remove fuel injection supply manifold with fuel injectors.
4. Remove the fuel injectors from fuel injection supply manifold by rocking fuel injector from side-to-side while pulling up gently.
5. Inspect the fuel injector O-rings (two per fuel injector for signs of deterioration and replace as required.
6. Inspect fuel injector end cap and body for signs of dirt and deterioration.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: Never use silicone grease on fuel injector O-rings. It will clog the injectors.

1. Lubricate two new O-rings lightly with clean engine oil XO-10W30-QSP or -DSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M2C153-E.
2. Lightly push and twist fuel injectors into fuel injection supply manifold.
3. Install fuel injection supply manifold with fuel injectors.
4. Install upper intake manifold.
5. Perform Charging System Post-Service Procedures as outlined under Fuel Delivery And Air Induction/Service And Repair.
