Upper Intake Manifold

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Remove accelerator cable shield from accelerator cable bracket.
4. Remove accelerator retracting spring and disconnect accelerator cable and speed control actuator cable from throttle lever.
5. Remove accelerator spring, cable bracket and throttle body from vehicle.
6. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from throttle position sensor and idle air control valve.
7. Remove evaporative emission hose from upper intake manifold.
8. Remove crankcase vent connector and hose from upper intake manifold to PCV valve.
9. Disconnect main emission vacuum control connector from upper intake manifold and secondary air injection diverter valve.
10. Remove EGR valve, then the secondary air diverter valve bracket, and position bracket out of the way.

11. Using removal sequence shown, remove upper intake manifold retaining bolts.
12. Remove manifold gaskets and discard.
13. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Always use new manifold gaskets.
