Right Side

1. Remove upper intake manifold.
2. Remove ignition wires from ignition coil and spark plugs.
3. Remove ignition coil.
4. Remove crankcase ventilation tube from righthand valve cover.
5. Remove engine control sensor wiring and evaporative emission hose retaining nuts and stud bolts from righthand valve cover. Position emission hose out of the way.
6. Remove valve cover attaching bolts, then the valve cover and gaskets.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

Fig. 20 Valve Cover Sealer Locations:

a. Apply a 5/16 inch bead of black silicone rubber part No. F4AZ-19562-B, or equivalent, at two places on valve cover sealing surfaces where engine front cover and cylinder head contact.
b. Install new gasket.
c. Install valve cover within six minutes of applying sealer.
d. Tighten valve cover bolts to 6-9 ft lb.
