Inspection and Verification (Start Testing Here)







1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the vehicle and applying the brakes under different conditions to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one or more of the following mechanical or electrical conditions apply:

Mechanical Electrical
Parking brake cable binding. Blown fuses Power Distribution Box:
Improperly inflated tires. -Fuse 13 (40A)
Mismatched wheels or tires. -Fuse 14 (30A)
-Fuse 1 (40A)
-Fuse 3 (40A)
Blown fuses Fuse junction panel:
-Fuse 9 (10A)
-Fuse 28 (15A)
-Fuse 12 (5A)
Damaged connections.
Disconnected connectors.

3. If inspection reveals an obvious concern that is readily serviced, correct the concern before continuing with inspection.
4. If a concern remains after the inspection, use Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 007-00500 or equivalent connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC) to retrieve continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and to execute self-test diagnostics for the anti-lock brake system module.
5. If self-test is passed and no DTCs are retrieved, go to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

7. If the Anti-Lock Brake System Module cannot be accessed by the New Generation Star Tester, go to Pinpoint Test E. E No Module Communications
