NOTE: The tripot is a unit with the driveshaft. If either tripot or driveshaft are damaged, the entire assembly must be replaced.

Fig. 19 CV Joint & Boot Types:





NOTE: Three types of boots and CV joints, are used on these models. These components are not interchangeable. Always use matching type when replacing components.

1. Remove large and small boot clamp as necessary, then remove inner joint outer housing.
2. If boot replacement is necessary, remove outer CV joint, then remove outer joint stop ring.
3. Remove old boot by sliding off outboard end of driveshaft.

INSTALLATION
1. If boot replacement is required, slide new boot onto shaft and into position groove of shaft from outer end of driveshaft.
2. Position new small boot clamp onto boot from outer end of driveshaft, then tighten clamp.
3. Fill inner CV joint and boot with a total of 8.8 oz of a suitable CV joint grease.
4. If inner boot was replaced, install outer joint stop ring, then outer CV joint.
5. Position inner joint outer housing onto tripot, then install large end of boot onto joint outer housing.
6. Ensure boot is not stretched or collapsed, if necessary use a blunt flat tool to pry up lip of boot to allow air pressure to equalize.

7. Ensure driveshaft length is proper.
8. Clean any excess grease from outside of boot.
9. Position new large boot clamp onto boot, then tighten clamp.
10. Position clamp replacer T95P-3514-A, or equivalent, on clamp ear and tighten tool through bolt until tool is in closed position.
