Wagon

REMOVAL
1. Raise vehicle on frame contact hoist, then using suitable floor jack, raise lower control arm to normal curb height.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove brake hose bracket from body.
4. Remove shock absorber.
5. Install spring cage tool 164-R3555, or equivalent, on spring.
6. Remove and discard upper ball joint nut, then separate joint from spindle.
7. Slowly lower rear suspension arm and bushing until spring is removable, then remove spring and its insulators.

INSTALLATION
1. Install lower spring insulator on control arm. Ensure insulator is seated properly.
2. Position upper insulator on spring, then install spring on lower control arm. Ensure spring is properly seated.
3. Slowly raise suspension arm and bushing, then guide upper insulator onto upper spring seat on underbody.
4. Position upper ball joint into suspension arm and bushing. Torque nut to 50-67 ft lb.
5. Install shock absorber, stabilizer bar and bracket.
6. Remove the spring cage tool.
7. Install brake hose bracket to body.
8. Install tire and wheel assembly.
9. Lower vehicle, then inspect rear wheel alignment.
