Fuel: Service and Repair
FUEL DRAININGWARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited, resulting in possible personal injury.
NOTE: Most component parts of the standard fuel system are retained by a simple nut, bolt or screw for removal and installation. Refer to individual system illustrations for specific part references.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: Vehicle with fuel-injected engines have reservoirs inside fuel tank to maintain fuel near fuel pickup during vehicle cornering maneuvers and under low fuel operating conditions. These reservoirs could block siphon tubes or hoses from reaching bottom of fuel tank. This situation can be overcome with a few repeated attempts using different hose orientations.
2. Insert Rotunda Fuel Tanker Adapter Hose 164-R3206 or equivalent into fuel tank through fuel tank filler pipe.
3. Remove fuel from fuel tank with Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker 164-R3201 or equivalent.
FUEL REFILLING
CAUTION: Make sure that all tubes and vents are properly connected and sealed prior to refilling the fuel tank.
1. Insert Rotunda Fuel Tanker Adapter Hose 164-R3206 or equivalent into fuel tank through fuel tank filler pipe.
2. Transfer fuel from Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker 164-R3201 or equivalent to fuel tank.
3. Connect battery ground cable.
