Air Door Actuator / Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.






2. Disengage the console panel from the instrument panel reinforcement and remove it from the instrument panel.






3. Disengage the console panel from the right side of the center console finish panel if equipped.
4. Working from under the passenger side of the instrument panel, remove the A/C electronic door actuator motor electrical connector from the A/C electronic door actuator motor.






5. Remove the four screws retaining the A/C electronic door actuator motor to the A/C evaporator housing and remove the A/C electronic door actuator motor from the A/C air temperature control door.

INSTALLATION
1. Insert the actuator shaft into the A/C air temperature control door and secure the A/C electronic door actuator motor to the A/C condenser housing with the four retaining screws.
2. Install the electrical connector to the bracket on the A/C electronic door actuator motor.
3. Install the instrument panel insulator and the console panel if equipped.
4. Connect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: On vehicles equipped with Electronic Engine Control (EEC), when the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the EEC processor relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the strategy.
