Camshaft: Service and Repair

1. Remove engine from vehicle and mount in suitable work stand.
2. Remove front cover and timing chain.
3. Remove intake manifolds and hydraulic valve lifters.
4. Remove camshaft thrust plate, then carefully pull camshaft from cylinder block. Use caution to avoid damaging bearings, journals and lobes.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate lifters, lifter bores, rocker arms and pushrods with oil conditioner part No. D9AZ-19579-A, or suitable heavy engine oil.
