Air Pressure Tests

AIR PRESSURE TESTS

Clutch And Band Application Chart:

NOTE: A no-drive condition may exist due to inoperative clutches or bands, regardless of oil pressure. Refer to the Clutch And Band Application Chart to isolate component needing attention.

1. Drain transaxle and remove main control cover, then remove main control as an assembly.
2. Remove solenoid body assembly, then install air check test plate tool No. T94P-77000-S or equivalent with 6 bolts.

Air Pressure Test Port Locations:

3. Locate inoperative clutches by applying 40 psi air pressure to appropriate clutch port and note the following:
a. Do not apply coast clutch circuit unless air pressure is maintained on forward clutch circuit.
b. A dull thud may be heard or felt when clutch piston is applied, and a hissing sound may be heard if clutch seals or check balls are leaking.
